How much does an MBA cost?

Cost of attendance is the aid office’s official budget: tuition and fees plus books, travel, and living. It is the federal-aid ceiling, not an invoice.

02

What is MBA ROI?

A constructed ratio: incremental pay over a named period, net of a named cost, divided by that cost. College Scorecard does not publish MBA ROI. Name every input.

03

What is opportunity cost of an MBA?

The wages you do not earn while you are in school, plus the raises that path would have produced. Often larger than tuition.

What is the cheapest accredited online MBA?

Start with the most-affordable ranking, then check accreditation and outcomes. Cheap without a score is a brochure.

05

What is sticker tuition vs net price?

Sticker is the published rate. Net price is what you actually pay after grants. Public in-state sticker can look like a bargain and still not be your bill.

What is a merit scholarship?

Aid the school awards from its own money for the file it wants, not for demonstrated need. It can vanish on a later round.

What is employer sponsorship?

The company pays some or all of tuition, often with a stay-or-repay clause. CSEA employment reports usually exclude sponsored students from salary tables.

What is tuition reimbursement?

A workplace benefit that pays courses as you go, usually with a cap and a grade rule. It is not the same as a full sponsorship package.

10

How much MBA student debt is typical?

Use College Scorecard field-of-study medians, not a forum anecdote. Debt is not ROI. Pair it with earnings for the same field.

What is payback period?

Years until incremental pay covers the all-in cost. Name the cost and the wage term. A signing bonus is year one, not every year.

CSEA base salary on accepted full-time offers at three months, excluding bonuses and often excluding sponsored students and founders.

What is a signing bonus?

One-time cash in the offer. Do not paste it into every future year of an ROI spreadsheet.

14

What is first-year compensation?

Base plus the bonuses that actually pay in year one. CSEA tells schools not to publish a stacked “total comp” as if it repeats.

15

Does College Scorecard publish MBA earnings?

Yes — median earnings at later horizons for the field of study. It is not CSEA starting base and it is not an official ROI.

What is in-state vs out-of-state tuition?
