Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business offers a Tech MBA program for those students interested in building their IT stack. This is an accelerated one-year program with a STEM designation. The program begins on Cornell’s Ithaca campus with a 14-week summer semester, while the following two semesters are held on Roosevelt Island in New York City at Cornell Tech.

During the spring semester, students have the option to pursue intensives with four courses in Fintech or three courses in Digital Marketing with students in the Two-Year MBA program. Students in the Fintech intensive cover topics like Blockchains, Cryptocurrencies, and Business Models and complete both a practicum and a capstone. All of the MBA programs offered through the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Scheller College of Business provide opportunities for MBA students to build their IT Management stacks. Both the Full-Time MBA program and the Evening MBA program have concentrations in Management of Information Resources, while the Weekend Executive MBA program offers a Management of Technology Specialization.

In the Full-Time and Evening MBA programs, all students are required to complete at least one concentration, which is made up of four electives (or 12 credits). In the Management of Information Resources Concentration, students learn competition strategies for rapidly evolving digital environments and how to manage and analyze information both inside and across organizations.

Students in either program can also opt to pursue an optional TI:GER and Creative Destruction Lab (CDL)-Atlanta concentration. TI:GER stands for Technology Innovation: Generating Economic Results. The Signature MBA is an 18-month, cohort-style program with both a summer internship and an intensive integrated learning capstone. The Part-Time MBA program can be completed in two to three years in either an online or on-campus format, which also uses a cohort structure. The Accelerated MBA is a quick 12-month program.

North Carolina State University, Raleigh – Raleigh, North Carolina

The Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, offers concentrations for its full-time Jenkins MBA program only. Students in the Jenkins MBA must complete 12 hours of credits to earn their concentration, of which Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) is one of the six options available. Within this TEC concentration, students may pursue either the commercialization of intellectual property path or the traditional approach to entrepreneurship, depending on their career interests.

Indiana University, Bloomington – Bloomington, Indiana

The Kelley Direct Online MBA program at Indiana University, Bloomington, is a 54-credit program through the Kelley School of Business. Of those 54 credits, of which 24 are made up of open electives for one of seven offered majors, of which Digital Technology Management is an option. Some examples of the open elective courses in this major include Business Capabilities for the Digital Future, Business Applications of Machine Learning, Data Warehousing and Visualization, and Digital Enterprise Business Technologies.

Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business offers several options for those looking to build the IT Management stack through an MBA program. The Evening MBA program offers a specialization in Health Information Technology as well as Information Technology Management. Required courses in the Health Information Technology specialization include Healthcare Information Technology, Healthcare Data Management, and Computer-based Decision Support Systems, which are all offered online, plus electives.
