Is “no GMAT required” the same as test-free?+

Usually not. Many pages that say “no GMAT required” run a waiver: you must qualify, petition, and wait. Others are test-optional and will still read a score you submit. If the program is test-free, academic-readiness work moves onto transcripts, quantitative coursework, certifications, and sometimes a school-built readiness course. The class profile may stop printing a GMAT median. That absence is the policy working, not a missing cell you should fill with a blog average.

Example: you hold a 705 GMAT and apply to a test-free online MBA plus a test-required full-time MBA. Send the 705 to the full-time school. Do not expect the test-free office to convert it into a scholarship bump unless the form still has a voluntary score field for aid.
